This spiral-shaped galaxy has been faithfully reproduced (with NASA's approval) on a silicium plate on the dial. The glittering starry sky in the background is made in Goldfluss, a synthetic glass whose original manufacturing process was invented in seventeenth-century Venice by the Miotti family. Goldfluss is a substitute for the natural Aventurine stone whose name was given by the glass-blowers in Murano, fascinated by the glittery inclusions scattered "a l'avventura". |
